Four people were killed in as a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj on Saturday (Jul 27).

The victims were identified as Sharif Mia, 35, driver of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, Khokon, 30, a local shoe trader, Ohid Mia, 38, and Rajia Khatun, 75.

The truck hit the auto-rickshaw on Motkhola-Katiadi Road at Madarkandi area of the upazila leaving Sharif and Khokon dead on the spot around 8:30 am, said Md. Mofizur Rahman, Officer in charge of Pakundia Police Station.

Rajia and Ohid succumbed to their injuries on their way to the hospital, he said.

Police have arrested the truck driver and seized the killer truck in this connection, the OC added.
