Swechchhasebak League leader commits suicide in Bogura

BoguraAn Awami Swechchhasebak League leader has committed suicide in Sherpur, Bogura.
The deceased, 22-year-old Monirul Islam Monir, committed suicide⁠—by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house⁠—in Koyerkhali, Khanpur union of the district on Wednesday (Jun 12), said police quoting locals.
According to police, Monir was frustrated with his political career and his marriage proposals having been rejected. These incidents led to a mental breakdown and later he decided to take his life.
“The deceased, Monir, committed suicide on Wednesday night. Finding him unresponsive the next morning, his family broke down his bedroom door and found him dead,” said Sherpur police station’s OC Humayun Kabir.
“Upon receiving a call from them, we recovered the dead body and sent it to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem. An unnatural death case has been filed,” he added.
