Nine injured as Noakhali hospital ceiling caves in

Nine people including five children have been injured when a large chunk of concrete plaster ceiling caved in at Noakhali General Hospital.
The incident took place at 6:20 am in Unit 2 of No 4 Children Ward of the hospital, said the relatives of the admitted patients at the hospital.
The victims have been identified as Rafi, 2, Md Ismail, 5, Sumaiya, 12, Md Rasel, 16, Md Ibrahim, 50, Parul Begum, 47, Badsha, 35, Rojina Begum, 20.
“Being informed, firefighters rushed to spot and conducted a rescue operation,” said Md Humayun, station officer of Maijdee Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Sayed Mohiuddin Abdul Azim, the resident doctor at the hospital, said, “Five children who were admitted at the hospital and their relatives are being treated at the hospital after the incident."
