Demanding capital punishment for the killers of Nusrat Jahan Rafi, her school mates held a protest at the Feni court premises. At this time, the students came under attack from the relatives of the accused.
The incident happened around 2:30pm on Monday (Jun 10), when the accused were being taken to the prison van. At this time, a youth was detained by the police, informed OC of Feni Model thana, Abul Kalam Azad.
Azad says: “On Monday, the accused were taken to the court for a hearing on their charge-sheet and police was deployed since morning to avoid any untoward incident; in the afternoon, class mates of Nusrat formed a peaceful human chain.”
When the accused were being taken to the prison van, the students began to chant the demand for hanging by death of the ones responsible for Nusrat’s death which provoked the relatives of the accused to attack them, informed the police.
