A female lawyer has been found dead in Moulvibazar.
The body of 35-year-old Abida Sultana was recovered from her father's residence at Madhabgul village in Barlekha Upazila around 3am on Monday (May 27), said police.
Tanvir Ahmed, 30, an abscond tenant, has been arrested in connection with the incident from Sreemangal. Earlier, two of his female family members were also taken into police custody regarding the mysterious death of their landlords' daughter.
"There were several injury marks on the victim's body, especially on her head and neck,” said Barlekha police OC Yasinul Haq.
Abida was a practicing lawyer at the District Judge Court in Moulvibazar.
“Tanvir was arrested around 1.30pm on Monday from Baruna area in Moulvibazar's Sreemangal Upazila on a tip-off,” Sreemangal police OC Md Abdus Salek told Bangla Tribune.
