Four brick kiln workers have been killed and three others injured when a truck ploughed into a house in Chattogram’s Rangunia upazila.
The incident was reported early on Thursday (Apr 25) from Gabtali area in the upazila’s Islampur, said Rangunia police OC Imtiaz Mohammad Ahsanul Kader Bhuiyan.
The identities of the victims could not be known yet.
“The incident took place around 3.30am when a wood-laden truck ploughed into a makeshift house made for brick kiln workers after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving four workers dead on the spot,” said village police Abdul Malek.
“Another three injured workers have been rescued from the scene and sent to hospital,” added Malek.
The seven workers were asleep at the house when the accident occurred.
