Three people died in Bogura on Sunday after a truck ran over them on the highway to Dhaka.
The incident around 7am was reported from the district’s Sherpur Upazila, said police.
The victims have been identified as Sadek Ali, 55, Mohsin Ali, 52, and Shah Mahmud, 35.
All of them were construction workers, said Sub Inspector Kajal Kumar Nandi of the local Highway Police camp.
“They were heading for work on foot along the highway when a covered van hit them. They died on the spot. Police have seized the vehicle, but the driver and his assistant managed to flee the scene,” he said.
Victim Sadek Ali’s family have started a case with the local Sherpur police, added the police officer.
