The Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway has been blocked by locals soon after a schoolgirl was injured in a road accident on Saturday (Apr 6).
Nazma Akhter was hit a by a four-wheeler passenger vehicle, locally known as human haulers, at Shikalbaha College Bazar near the city, said Karnaphuli police OC Mohammad Alamgir.
According to locals, the ninth-grader at the local Patiya A.J Chowdhury Bohumukhi High School was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
“The students and locals blocked the road soon after the incident which bringing traffic at the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway at a standstill” said OC Alamgir.
“We are trying to disperse the crowd,” he added.
