A Bangladeshi national has been shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members in Chapainawabganj.
The incident was reported from Masudpur Border area in the district’s Shibgonj Upazila around 3.30am on Tuesday (Apr 2), said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
The deceased has been identified as Milon, a cattle trader by profession.
"BSF opened fire on a group of cattle traders while they were trying to cross into Indian Territory around 3am on Tuesday, leaving Milon dead on the spot,” BGB Chapainawabganj-53 Battalion Commander Lt Col Sajjad Sarwar told Bangla Tribune.
“Milon’s associates carried his body back to Bangladesh,” said Sarwar.
"BGB is going to issue a letter to BSF to hold a flag meeting over the incident," added the BGB official.
