Dilara Yasmin, head teacher of Shailkupa Pilot Girl’s High School in Jhenaidah`s Shailkupa upazila.A case was filed against the head teacher of a school in Jhenaidah’s Shailkupa upazila, for spreading misinformation against journalists.
Shailkupa police Sub -Inspector (SI) and investigating officer of the case Mahfuzur Rahman said, the case was filed against Dilara Yasmin, head teacher of Shailkupa Pilot Girl’s High School, by Shamim Bin Sattar, editor of Dakua, a local newsweekly.
Shamim said Dilara was spreading hateful content against him and other journalists on social media, who were reporting allegations of corruption against the headmistress in both print and electronic media.
She vented out her frustrations by posting on the official Facebook group of the high school, where she targeted Shamim, along with Asif Iqbal, senior journalist in the region and Abdur Rahman Milton, district correspondent of DBC News channel.
He added a lot of profanities were used in that post.
Later a screenshot of the post was attached as proof while filing a general diary at Shailkupa police station, which was filed by Asif Iqbal on February.
Police had verified the authenticity of the post, after which they suggested the reporters to file a case under the Digital Security Act, which was finally filed on Mar 20.
Dilara Yasmin has been absconding ever since the case was filed.
