Voting in three polling centres at Daskandi, Vitikandi and Sahapur in Cumilla’s Titas Upazila has been postponed due to allegations of unlawful activities.

Titas Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rasheda Ahkter made the announcement on Sunday (Mar 31) morning after she received complaints that ballot papers were stamped the night before, attempts were made to occupy polling centers and clashes broke out between the supporters of contestants outside the centers.

Titas police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Masud has been withdrawn after information was received that he entered Sahapur Government Primary School polling center without uniform, added Akhter.

Voting at Daskandi Government Primary School has been suspended over a complaint that two groups tried to occupy the center around 2.30am on Sunday (Mar 31) which triggered a clash, leaving a person, Abdullah Member, injured, sources said.

Polling at Vitikandi Government Primary School and Sahapur Government Primary School voting centers was suspended over allegations including ballot paper stamping the night before the polls plus attempts to occupy the voting centers.
