No ‘deviant’ haircut from Tangail hairdressers

Representational imageYouths of Bhuapur upazila in Tangail will no longer be able to wear any kind of “deviant” or “fancy” hairdos.
Hairdressers will be fined Tk 40,000 for giving anyone a "deviant' hairstyle, according to a signed notice by Bhuapur Upazila Sheel Shamity President Shekhar Chandra Sheel and General Secretary Arun Chandra Sheel.
The notice stated that there is a government ban on doing any sort of “fancy” or “impudent” hairstyle. The notice also stated that catalogues containing such hairstyles cannot be kept in barber shops either.
“The Bhuapur Upazila Sheel Shamity will not bear any responsibility if these rules are disobeyed,” the notice read.
Regarding the matter, Shekhar Chandra Sheel said: “We have warned everyone through a written notice. This rule will be implemented very strictly and no one will be exempt.”
