Seven school girls have been hospitalised after they were hit by a ‘mass hysteria’ in Feni’s Fulgazi upazila on Monday.
“The students passed out together upon entering the classroom after singing the national anthem in the morning,” English daily Dhaka Triune quoted Rabiul Haque Majumdar, headmaster of Fulgazi Bandua Daulatpur High School.
The girls were admitted to the local health complex.
They are likely to suffer mass hysteria induced by changes in weather patterns or mental health, said medical officer of the health complex Dr Sharfuddin Mahmud.
The girls were later shifted to the state-owned hospital in the district town.
