Ferry Services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed on Thursday (Mar 14) morning after being halted for over four hours.
‘The services were suspended from 4am due to poor visibility caused by dense fog,’ said Salauddin Hossain, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia terminal office.
“Ferry services resumed at around 8.30am after visibility improved,” Hossain said.
“A good number of vehicles and passengers lay anchored at Paturia and Daulatdia terminals,” added the BIWTC official.
The ferry route across the Padma River is essential for road communication to 21 districts in the south-west of Bangladesh with Dhaka.
