Bangladesh hands over detained Myanmar border guard

CourtesyBorder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has handed over to Myanmar a member of it Border Guard Police (BGP), who had been detained for trespassing into Bangladesh through the Lembuchhari borders.
BGB held a flag meeting with BGP at the zero point near Ghumdhum border in Bandarban on Sunday.
After the meeting, detained Myanmar trooper Aung Bo Thin was handed over to BGP 30pm.
Cox’s Bazar BGB 34 Battalion Captain Lt Col Md Ami Haidar Azad Ahmed confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.
On Jan 24, locals captured Bo Thin while he was roaming around in the hill areas inside Bangladeshi territory, and handed him over to the local BGB camp.
Upon his detention, Bo Thin said he is a resident of Yangon in Myanmar and a member of the Libi 287 battalion of the Myanmar Army.
He also said he had been assigned to duty at Bendula camp near the Lembuchhari border point.
Later upon interrogation by the BGB, Bo Thin said he fled into Bangladesh on his own as he did not like to perform the duties at Bendula camp.
