Locals have beaten a suspected robber to death after some 5, 6 people allegedly entered a house posing as members of police’s Detective Branch (DB) and attempted to rob the place.
The incident was reported from Pabna’s Ishurdi Upazia around 1:30am on Saturday (Mar 2).
According to locals and police sources, a gang of some 5, 6 people entered a residence at the Potirajpur village by posing as DB personnel. Sensing their real motive, locals charged in and chased the robbers. They managed to grab one of them and beat him to death while the others managed to flee. 
‘Police have recovered the body and brought it to the police station,” said Ishurdi police OC Bahauddin Faruki.
“A case will be filed over the incident,“ he said before adding that the identity of the dead, who is estimated to be in his late twenties, has not yet been identified.
