Police impersonators snatch youth’s bike in Bogura

BoguraA group of men, impersonating the police, have allegedly snatched a youth’s motorbike and left him stabbed.

The victim, identified as Mehedi Hasan, 22, is undergoing treatment at Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

The incident was reported around Thursday (Jan 10) at the Boalia area of Adamdighi Upazila.

However, Adamdighi and Dupchachia police claim the place of occurrence do not fall under their jurisdiction.

Hasan’s Grandfather Badiuzzaman said that Hasan, a college student, was going to his grandfather’s place on his bike. Around 7:30pm a group of men blocked his way and demanded to see his papers claiming to be police men. When Hasan failed to produce papers, one of those men took the bike and Hasan in an uninhabited area and fled with his bike before stabbing him in his leg.

Passersby, later, rescued Hasan and got him admitted at Adamdikhi Upazila Health Complex. He was later transferred to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College after his condition deteriorated. 

Adamdighi police OC Monirul Islam said, the incident took place in Boalia area under Dupchachia Police Station.

Dupchachia Police OC Mizanur Rahman, however, said the place of occurrence lies within Adamdighi Upazila.
