Two people including a member of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF have been shot dead in hill tracts district of Khagrachhari, which police said carried out by Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS-reformist).
The incident was reported from Pujgangmukh area of the district’s Panchari Upazila on Monday (Dec 24).
The deceased are Chikku Chakma, 25, a collector of UPDF, and Sohel Rana, 32.
Khagrachhari Additional Superintend of Police MM Salahuddin said, “A group of JSS men opened fire in the area around 12pm leaving two dead on the spot.’
Members of army and police visited the spot, he added.
UPDF leader Michael Chakma also blamed the JSS men for the killings demanding punishment to the perpetrators.
“Bring the killers to book other we will go for tougher movement,” he warned.
