Polls must be violence free: EC Mahbub Talukdar

Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukdar was addressing a meeting with local law enforcement officials in Sylhet ahead of the upcoming national polls on Sunday (Dec 23).Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukdar has said, “The election must be held peacefully and in a violence-free atmosphere.”
His comments came on Sunday (Dec 23) during a meeting with local law enforcement officials in Sylhet ahead of the upcoming national polls.
“We want to hold a fair, neutral and credible election,” he said.
“An atmosphere without fear must be maintained at any cost to hold the election and it is our earnest hope that every single voter must get the opportunity to cast their franchises without in a safe environment,” Talukder said adding the Army will be deployed across the country on Monday (Dec 24). Army deployment will bring confidence among the voters, he hoped.
“Every candidate is equal to us and EC is not biased to any any specific political party,” he assured.
