BNP leaders claimed that Shecchashebok Dal leader Abu Sayem Parag and local party activists were hanging up Fakhrul’s campaign posters when Jubo League and Chatra League leaders stopped them.
At a point, the clash ensued and Parag was severely injured and is now undergoing treatment at Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital.
Parag said Chatra League and Jubo League leaders tore up the posters and warned them to not put up any more of them. When they did not pay heed, the ruling party activists attacked them.
However, Jubo League denied the allegations saying that it was all part of BNP leaders’ conspiracy to blame Awami League.
Meanwhile, Thakurgaon Sadar police OC Mostafizur Rahman said that police brought the situation under control as soon as they reached.
