Two die falling off train roof in Pabna

PabnaTwo people were killed and seven others injured being hit by an overhead girder of Hardinge bridge while travelling on a train roof.
The incident was reported from Pakshi Hardinge Bridge area in Pabna around 5am on Friday (Dec 14), said police.
Two of the deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Abdul Hakim and 20-year-old Rabiul Islam.
The injured victims are 11-year-old Shanta, Imran Hossain, Abdullah, Nazmul Islam, Fazlul Islam, Mohibullah and Ibrahim Hossain who have been admitted to Bheramara Health Complex and Kushtia Sadar Hospital.
“Some passengers who were travelling on the roof of Khulna-bound Inter-city Chitra Express Train from Dhaka fell from the roof after being hit by the girder of the bridge at Pakshi and Bheramara link point,” said Pakshi Hardinge Bridge police camp OC Shahidul Islam.
“Two of them died on the spot while one sustained injuries,” he added.
Being informed, police recovered the bodies.
