A head-on collision between a truck and a three-wheeler passenger vehicle has left four people killed, including a woman in Jhenaidah.
The crash on the Jhenaidah-Jashore Highway on Wednesday (May 2) has also left four others injured, said Jhenaidah police OC Emdadul Haque.
The crash took place at Laudiya near the district town when three people, including the three-wheeler’s driver Mahbub Hossain, died on the spot, he said.
Five others were rushed to the state-run hospital in Jhenaidah, where a woman, identified as Hazera Khatun, succumbed to her injuries.
One of the remaining deceased victims has been identified as Aslam Hossain while the other is yet to be confirmed, said the police officer.
The truck’s driver managed to escape from the scene, but police have seized the vehicle.
Of the four hospitalised victims, three have been transferred to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
