Narayanganj’s Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abdullah Al Mamun was addressing a media briefing on Sunday (Oct 21).Police are still trying to indentify identities of the four youth, found dead on Sunday morning by roadside at Araihazar, Narayanganj.
Photos of the deceased have been sent across police stations for identification while police are awaiting autopsy report which will shed light on their cause of death, Narayanganj’s Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abdullah Al Mamun told media on Sunday (Oct 21).
Bodies of the youths were recovered after locals spotted them by the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in early hours Sunday.
Responding to a query from the media the ASP said, “We are suspecting that they were killed somewhere else before the bodies were dumped by the highway.”
When asked about locals’ claim that gunshots were heard, the Police officer said that, “We found the bodies with their head smashed which made it difficult to recognize their face. No bullet-wounds or sign of bad treatment were seen.”
“We’ll have wait for the autopsy report to be sure if they were shot dead,” added ASP Mamun.
Police suspect they were victims of internal feud between terrorist gangs.
