A fire has gutted down two tin-shed buildings of No 88 Government Primary School in the district town of Manikganj on Friday (Oct 12).A fire has gutted down two tin-shed buildings of a government primary school in the district town of Manikganj.
The incident took place around 12pm on Friday at the two buildings of No 88 Government Primary School adjacent to Shaheed Rafiq Govt Boys’ School.
The affected school’s headmaster said, “Fifteen classrooms, furniture, and other educational tools of the schools were burned to ashes.”
Locals said that they informed the fire service station when the fire erupted suddenly inside the classrooms.
Manikganj sadar police OC Rakibuzzaman said, “It took the fire-fighting unit almost one and half hour to put out the fire.”
Mizanur Rahman, assistant director of district fire service and civil defense, said it is being primarily assumed that the fire broke out from an electric short-circuit.
