Bus firebombing in Bogura, BNP leader heldPolice in Bogura have arrested a local leader of BNP as a bus was firebombed in the district on Wednesday soon after the verdict in the Aug 21 grenade attack was announced by a court in Dhaka.
“A group of people hurled a petrol bomb on a Dhaka-bound bus on Dhaka-Bgura highways in the district’s Sajapur aera of Shajanpur Upazila, leaving two passengers injured,” Bagura Sadar circle additional superintendent of police Sanatan Chakrabarty told Bangla Tribune.
The injured have been identified as Munira Begum, 40, wife of Nazrul Islam of Nilphamari’s Shimulbari village, and Anjuara Begum, 50, wife of Mozammel Haque of Sadar Upazila.
The attackers also vandalised the bus operated by Nabil Paribahan.
Witnesses said, police chased the attackers and arrested a man.
The detainee Nur Mohammad, 30, is the assistant secretary for agriculture affairs of Bagura district Jubo Dal, youth front of BNP.
