It’s believed that Chairman of the Amadi union of Khulna’s Koira Upazila, Amir Ali Gain, who is mentioned in a murder charge sheet, carried out rallies with police protocol.
The rally was held on Monday to demand the withdrawal of the case. At this time, the investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Sayeed Al Mamun plus around 24 police members were present.
District police superintendent, SM Shafiullah, said, “Recommendation has been made to transfer the case to Criminal Investigation Department (CID).”
Meanwhile, UP chairman said, “The locals came to meet me after I came back from a trip to Dhaka and Khulna; when they gathered around me, I gave a speech addressed to them.”
The local police sub-inspector Sayeed Al Mamun said, “The case has been transferred to the CID on Sept 13.”
He also said that he had gone along with police to disperse the crowd.
Khulna CID inspector Khan Sarwar Hossain said, “I got the documents on Monday and will take initiative to arrest the accused.”
In the killing of pick-up driver, Selim Sheikh, the mother of the deceased filed a case on Sept 5 which mentioned UP chairman, Amir Ali Gain, his son and eleven others.
