A schoolboy has been injured as neighbours attacked him over a land dispute in Gopalganj, family said.
Twelve-year-old Debbratta Haldar sustained injuries in the attack, which was reported from Tarakandi village of the district’s Kotalipara Upazila on Monday (Aug 29).
Debbratta is a class VII a student of the upazila’s Kandi Ideal Secondary School.
Victim’s father Bimal Chandra Halder said that he had a dispute over a piece of land with neighbour Dulal Haldar for long.
“On Monday, Dulal’s two sons – Dipankar and Shuvankar attacked Debbratta in a sequel to the previous enmity, leaving him injured,” said Bimal, who is a teacher by profession.
He was rushed to the upazila health complex and subsequently shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Doctors referred the boy to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
When Bangla Tribune visited Dulal’s home, nobody was there.
Kotalipara police OC Mohamamd Kamrul Faruk told Bangla Tribune that no case has been filed.
“If the case is filed action will be taken after investigation,” said the OC.
