Death toll rises to 14 in Natore road crash

As many as 14 people have been killed when a bus crashed into a human hauler, locally known as leguna, on highway in Natore.
At least 26 others have been injured in the accident reported on Saturday afternoon from the district’s Lalpur Upazila, said officials.
The victims are yet to be identified while the injured has been taken to the state-run hospital in the Upazila town.
“The Pabna-bound bus from Rajshahi collided head-on with the leguna leaving 10 people dead on the spot. At least 30 others have been injured,” said Natore Fire Station’s Office Mahiuddin Ahmed.
Four of the injured, who were in critical condition, succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
He said all the dead victims were travelling on the leguna. The dead include two children and three women.
“Ten bodies have been recovered from the site,“ said OC GM Shamsun Noor.
