Police in Chuadanga say they have recovered the bullet-hit body of a man, who was regional leader of an extremist organisation.
Abdul Bari, 47, was killed in a shootout between two groups late on Friday at village in Damurhuda Upazila, said local police OC Sukumar Biswas.
“He was wanted for several charges, including murder and robbery. He had fled to India. We suspect he returned ahead of the Eid and was trying to re-group”, said the police officer.
According to him, a disagreement during the meeting led to a gunfight when Bari was killed. The others fled.
