A man has been killed as a clash broke out among villagers following a quarrel among kids over a friendly football match in Kishoreganj, police said.
The clash, which was reported from Char Katkhan village of Kishoreganj’s Mithamain Upazila on Friday, also left 30 others injured.
The deceased is Akter Uddin, 55, son of late Fazar Ali of Char Katkhal village.
On Thursday, children from two neighbouring houses – Haque Mian and Hashem Mian of Char Katkhal village organised a friendly football match, which ended with scuffle among themselves, police quoted the locals.
As the kids informed their parents, people from both sides prepared for an attack and swept on each other on Friday.
Akter was hit with a spear during the clash that also left 30 others wounded.
Critically injured Akter was taken to the public hospital in the district town where the doctor pronounced him dead.
The injured underwent treatment at local hospitals with two in critical condition.
Mithamain police OC Md Alimul said, “The body was kept at the hospital for autopsy.”
Tense prevails in the area. However, no case is filed.
“Forces have been deployed to avoid the further incident,” said Alimul.
