Fifteen km traffic congestion was reported on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, as holidaymakers head home on the eve of Eid. Vehicle movement from Tangail’s Elenga to the Bangabandhu Bridge was very slow since early hours of Monday, causing severe suffering to the passengers.

OC of Bangabandhu Bridge (east) police station, Mosharraf Hossain, said: “two road accidents were reported on Monday morning on the Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway. It took a while to remove the trucks from the road that were involved in the mishap.”

Saying that traffic congestion was created for a period, he assured that highway and district police are doing their best to tackle any vehicular congestion.”
