Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said inflation is under control and prices of spices and onion would not go up during Eid-ul-Adha.
He said this at a media briefing after the ECNEC meeting held in the city Tuesday.
The inflation rate has declined as the prices of essential imported items are not in the rise in the international market, he said.
According to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), overall July inflation was 5.51 percent while it was 5.54 percent one month back.
However, in July, food inflation rose to 6.18 percent from 5.98 percent a month back.
