Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has called traders of daily essentials to make profit reasonably.
“Traders should act responsibly. They should make profit reasonably,” Munshi said during a meeting over commodity market during the upcoming month of Ramadan at Dhaka’s Secretariat on Thursday (Jan 2).
Assuring government’s assistance to traders, Minister Munshi said, “Commerce ministry will take steps based on past experience to avoid any loss of the traders.”
Munshi also disclosed plans of stockpiling daily commodities ahead of the Ramadan after reviewing demands, productions and imports.
Former commerce minister Tofail Ahmed said, “Government is working to ensure smooth supplies and fair prices of daily essential items.”
“Government is fully aware to avoid supply crunches or unusual price hikes,” he added.
