File photo shows a general view of the Dhaka Stock Exchange building.Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), slipped further extending the losing spell for second consecutive sessions.
The broad index, DSEX closed at 4596 points on Sunday (Dec 8) with a loss of 75.33 points or 1.61 percent, reports BSS.
Besides, the two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and the Shariah index, DSES also went down by 22.76 points and 14.54 points to settle at 1583.05 points and 1041.29 points respectively.
On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 119,028 trades were executed in Sunday’s trading session with a trading volume of 139.47 million securities.
Losers took a strong lead over the gainers as out of 353 issues traded, 53 securities gained price while 273 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
The top 10 gainers were Sinobangla Industries, Anlima Yarn, Hakkani Pulp, Standard Ceramic, Bashundhara Paper Mills, BD Auto Car, Genex Infosys, Hwa Well Textile, National Life Insurance and BSRM Steel Mill.
Sinobangla Industries topped the turnover chart followed by Sonarbangla Insurance, National Tubes, Daffodil Computer, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, SK Trims, Paramount Insurance, Beacon Pharma, Genex Infosys and Wata Chemical.
The top 10 losers were Regent Textile, Makson Spinning, Square Knit Composite, Sonarbangla Insurance, Mozaffar Hossain Spinning Mill, Khulna Power, National Feed Mill, Premier Leasing, ICB Islami Bank and New Line Clothing.
On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed at red maintaining trend of the previous day. CSCX and CASPI declined by 137.40 points and 223.63 points to stand at 8485.30 points and 13979.70 points respectively.
At CSE, a total of 6,273,219 shares and mutual fund of 239 companies were traded, of which 37 issues advanced while 186 declined and 16 issues remained unchanged.
