Gold prices to go up from Sunday

Jewellers have decided to raise gold prices, effective from Sunday (Nov 23).

The decision was made on Saturday (Nov 23) as the prices of dollar against taka have been on the upward trend in local bullion markets, says a press statement issued by Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS).

According to the new price list, the prices will be raised by Tk 1,166 per bhori (11.664g).

Each bhori of 22 carat gold will now cost Tk 58,028, 21 carat will be priced at Tk 55,696, and 18 carat will be sold at Tk 50,640 in the local market.

No change in the price for gold in the traditional method and silver.  The price of gold in the traditional method is now set at Tk 29,160, and 21-carat silver at Tk 1,166 per bhori.

On Saturday, a bhori of 22 carat gold was sold at Tk 56,862, 21 carat at Tk 54,529 and 18 carat at Tk 49,513, as shown by BAJUS' data.
