Brazil has proposed to import ready-made garments in exchange for exporting frozen beef to Bangladesh, said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.
“There is no scope for taking a decision without thorough analysis,” he said at a conference on Saturday (Oct 19).
The minister said that before signing any bilateral free trade agreements (FTA), Bangladesh would sort out the pros and cons, nor compromising its own interest.
He added that demand for Bangladesh’s RMG is extending to the Commonwealth Independent State (CIS) countries including Russia and Bangladesh is currently negotiating FTAs with these countries, which can expand the export of RMG.
