Ex-secretary Md Sirazul Islam has been appointed as executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), effective from Sep 4.
Islam will replace Kazi Aminul Islam—the first executive chairman of BIDA, according to a circular issued by public administration ministry on Tuesday (Aug 27).
Islam is the former secretary of health and family welfare ministry.
Established in 2016, the BIDA is a merger between the Privatisation Commission and the Board of Investment to act as the principal private investment promotion and facilitation agency of Bangladesh.
