Point-to-point inflation rate has slightly dropped last month, according to the latest government figures.
It trickled down to 5.54 percent in June from 5.57 percent the previous month.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal unveiled the figures at the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Tuesday.
Food inflation fell to 5.98 percent against May’s 6.56 percent. Non-food inflation slightly rose to 4.87 percent from 4.8 percent.
“Food reserve has been increased, thus, ensuring food security. So, inflation won’t go up any more,” Kamal said.
According to BBS, house rent, electricity bill, medical and transport service charge, and price of cloths and several educational equipment witnessed a rise in June.
Price of non-food products went up all over the country with slight down in the price of food products.
