CNG gas filling stations will remain open for 24 hours from Aug 1.

The country has achieved the capacity in gas supply due to domestic gas exploration along with the import of 1 billion cubic feet LNG, Energy Secretary Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem told the media on Tuesday (Jul 30).

Gas supply will be more easier from now on, he added.

At present, gas stations remain closed from 5pm to 9pm daily due to energy rationing.

The decision will remain effective until further notice for the interest of people, the power, energy and mineral resources ministry said in a statement.

The government's move came two weeks before the Muslims in Bangladesh are expected celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on Aug 12.
