Bangladesh Bank, in a circular sent to the top executives of commercial banks, has asked them to keep their banks open on Saturday (June 30).
The directive was issued on Thursday afternoon for the convenience of National Board of Revenue (NBR) to cash the deposited cheque/ pay orders in June 2018 and for the taxpayers to pay taxes.
June 30 is the last day of FY2017-18.
FY2014-’15 will start from, Sunday (Jul 1), which is a bank holiday, when no bank transactions take place.
