All commercial banks will remain closed on Tuesday (Jun 26) in Gazipur city for the city corporation election.
A notice issued by the Bangladesh Bank has been sent to the managing directors and the CEOs of all banks in this regard.
The notice says, “Upon the direction from the Election Commission, all scheduled banks have been asked to close their local and regional branches for Tuesday in convenient to their officials and employees casting votes in the polls.”
Earlier, the Public Administration ministry announced a public holiday for all government organisations and educational institutes in the city.
