A Chinese company will invest $33 million for the development of agriculture sector in Bangladesh, said Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Zhang Zuo.
The Chinese company “will set up three agricultural processing industries in the country,” he told a meeting with Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque at the latter’s office in the city on Thursday (May 16).
Different issues related to bilateral interest between Bangladesh and China were discussed at the meeting, said Giasudding Ahmed, public relation officer of agriculture sector.
Quoting the Chinese envoy, Ahmed said his country will import agro products from Bangladesh.
The agriculture minister also said the incumbent government had been working relentlessly to make the people of Bangladesh better by ensuring standard food and nutrition through modernization of agriculture and becoming a developed country before 2041.
Director of the Political Section of the Chinese Embassy Zheng Tianzhuo and Attach, of the Political Section Hu Zhiying were also present on the occasion.
