Over 22% RMG workers face sexual harassment at work: Study

Manusher Jonno Foundation and Karmojibi Nari conducted the study and stated their findings in a press briefing at the National Press Club on Tuesday (May 7), reports Dhaka Tribune.
According to the study, female garment workers have to endure various forms of harassment at their work places and also on their way to work.
The study said 42% of these incidents include ill-intended glances toward female garment workers, 34% cases are of their private parts female garment workers being touched, and 34.92% are of their private body parts being looked at.
Some 28% of all sexual harassment incidents are of female garment workers being touched inappropriately by their supervisors at work.
The experts present at the event emphasized the importance of building a business model that protects female workers from all forms of sexual harassment.
A total of 22 factories were surveyed for this study.
