The Dhaka Branch Council (DBC) of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has elected a new council for the year 2019.

Md Abdus Satter Sarkar FCA, FCMA has been elected as the Chairman and Dr Syed Abdulla Al Mamun FCMA has been elected the Secretary.

Meanwhile, Md Bakhtiar Alam FCMA and Muhammad Nazrul Islam FCMA have been elected as the Vice-Chairman and Treasurer respectively.

Md Abdus Satter Sarkar is currently a partner at Mahfel Huq & Co. Chartered Accountants. He is also the Principal & CEO, of Assarkar & Co. Cost & Management Accountants. He previously headed the Finance Department of BRAC, the largest NGO in the World. He was Vice-Chairman of DBC in 2018, Secretary in 2016 and Treasurer in 2014.

Dr Syed Abdulla Al Mamun is currently working as an Associate Professor of Finance at Southeast Business School and is the director of Institute of Research and Training (IRT) at Southeast University. Dr Mamun completed his PhD in Finance from School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.

Md Bakhtiar Alam is working as the Associate Head-Corporate Finance at Perfetti Van Melle Bangladesh Pvt Ltd. He was the Treasurer of DBC in 2010 and Secretary in 2018.

Muhammad Nazrul Islam is working as the Managing Director and CEO of Sandhani Life Finance Ltd.

Chartered Accountants, Mr SafiulAzam FCMA, General Manager-Finance and Accounts and Company Secretary, Popular Pharmaceuticals Limited and Mr Sudhangsu Kumar Saha ACMA, Deputy Commissioner of Taxes, NBR.
