Operations of Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) will remain suspended from 12.01am Friday to 6am Tuesday for upgrading it systems.
All kind of transactions using DBBL-issued credit and debit cards, agent banking as well as mobile banking service ‘Rocket’ will be halted for four days, the private bank said in a statement.
DBBL has already apologised to its nearly 25 million customers for the ‘temporary inconvenience’ in text messages.
Its officials, however, said in an effort to minimize the customers’ suffering, the time for the suspension has been chosen covering two weekly holidays and a public holiday.
Friday and Saturday are weekly holidays and Mar 17, Sunday, will be a holiday for Bangabandhu Sheikh Muhibur Rahman’s birthday and National Children’s Day, which will minimize the sufferings, a DBBL official told Bangla Tribune, but asked not to be named as he was not authorized to speak to the media.
However, DBBL customers will not be able to do any banking on Monday, when everything will run as usual in the country.
DBBL, which started operations in 1995, serves about 25 million customers through its 184 branches, over 4,500 ATM booths and 800 fast-track service centres.
