The Appellate Division has instructed mobile phone operator CityCell to pay its Tk 1.28 billion due to the Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Authority immediately.
A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain Tuesday rejected the CityCell petition to extend time and gave the order.
In the hearing Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam represented the state while Kamrul Haque Siddique, Fazle Nur Taposh and Khandker Reza-e Rakib represented Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Authority. Rokon Uddin Mahmud and Ahsanul Karim represented CityCell.
It can be mentioned here that on November 3, the Appellate Division instructed the authorities to reconnect Citycell frequency and asked the oldest mobile phone operator to pay Tk 1 billion due by 19 November.
