Stocks witnessed flat with falling trend of most of the major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges despite higher transactions on Sunday (Jan 27), reprots BSS.
The day’s trade value at the DSE increased to Tk 11.99 billion from Thursday’s (Jan 25) Tk 10.38 billon and the daily trade also rose to 379.2 million shares from 335.7 million share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of the DSE closed the day with 10.56 points down at 5,939.45. The blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 5.48 point down at 2,043.52. But, the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.65 point up at 1,322.26.
At the DSE, prices of 162 securities out of the day’s 347 closed higher against 159 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were EHL, KDSALTD, Prime Insurance, Provati Insurance and East Land. The major losing issues were Emerald Oil, BD Auto Cars, KAY&QUE, Jute Spinning and JMISMDL. Premier Bank topped the turnover list followed by EHL, UPGDCL, United Fin and Dhaka Bank. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 50.02 points down at 18,215.80.
At the CSE, 280 issues traded while 280 closed higher against 146 closed lower when 21 million shares worth Tk 536.5 million changed hands.
