People of Bangladesh now are enjoying the cheapest internet in the world and it is possible due to right and timely policy of the Awami League government, said the adviser to the Prime Minister on Information Technology Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
He made the remark while inaugurating the 5G test trial at capital’s Sonargaon hotel on Wednesday.
In his speech, Joy thanked the partners who aided Bangladesh to launch 4G version of internet technology.
“Ten years back, we took number of projects in a bid to enter into the digital era. Within six years, we could launch 4G which is unprecedented in the world,” Joy said.
The internet prices have been decreased to 99 per cent within five years. I feel proud as all these came true during the Awami League regime, he added.
