Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Board, BTRC, has cancelled the ISP-nationwide licence of Banglaphone.

This was done since Banglaphone did not stop the Nation-wide Telecommunication Transmission Network, NTTN, failed to pay government revenue in arrear and, for disregarding directives from the commission.

The revocation order was declared through a notice signed by MA Taleb, director of BTRC’s Legal and Licencing Division.
The notice also asks all relevant institutes and persons to refrain from entering into any agreement or financial deal with Banglaphone.
Breach of this directive will result in legal steps as stated in the telecommunication control act, the notice stated.
