Bangladesh’s all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz is alright despite suffering a blow on the head during a practice session on Sunday (Jun 23), ahead of the match against Afghanistan on Monday.
The 21-year old was hit by a ball while being interviewed near the boundary rope in the Rose Bowl Stadium in Hampshire.
Right-hander Sabbir Rahman played a pull shot that flew over the boundary through the deep square leg region but it ricocheted off the sitting area and hit Miraz.
The all-rounder was then taken to the dressing room after first aid.
“Miraz wanted to return to practice, but he was not allowed,” Bangladesh cricket team’s media manager Rabid Imam to the media.
"He is now under the physio’s observation. He seems okay and it looks everything is fine so far,” Imam added.
